A denture is a custom-made, removable set of replacement teeth. A complete denture replaces every tooth in an arch: top, bottom, or both. A partial fills the gaps left by several missing teeth, resting on the natural teeth you still have. Both are built from an impression of your own mouth, so the fit, shape, and shade are made for you.
Why the timing changes the plan
Timing matters too. A conventional denture is made after your gums heal from any extractions and fits more predictably once tissue settles. An immediate denture is placed the same day as your extractions, so you’re never without teeth. But your gums keep changing shape as you heal, so it typically needs a reline later. New Denture, or a Denture That Stopped Fitting
Dentures make sense if you’re missing several teeth in a row, most of an arch, or all of it: from decay, gum disease, injury, or years of wear.
It’s also worth a conversation if your current denture has started to feel loose, clicks when you talk, or you’ve been avoiding certain foods because it doesn’t feel secure. A denture that fit well five years ago doesn’t necessarily fit today: gums and bone keep changing shape over time. Everyone’s welcome here, whatever stage brought you in.
If a removable denture never quite feels secure, it can often be anchored to a small number of implants so it stops slipping. Planned and placed by our team, without being sent elsewhere for part of the work.
